Creative direction & web design for POAC Succeed
POAC Succeed is a nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri. It is a registered 501(c)(3) dedicated to empowering students and communities through leadership development, education, and support. Their mission centers on cultivating compassionate, confident, and impactful leaders who foster kindness, acceptance, and courageous conversations in schools and beyond.
Jamie Grayson, Executive Director of POAC Succeed, reached out to me to completely rebuild their website and elevate their brand presence. As both the web designer and creative director, I led the transformation of their digital identity. This included visual design, brand strategy, interactive features, and campaign development. My work involved creating a full brand kit, designing a multi-tab website, developing the BeBOLD campaign, and building tools to support fundraising, storytelling, and community engagement.
Website planning & collaboration
In the early stages of the POAC Succeed website redesign, Jamie Grayson and I collaborated to reimagine its structure, flow, and overall user experience. The original site was minimal and lacked visual interest, clear navigation, and storytelling elements to convey POAC’s mission.
We developed a new site architecture with intuitive navigation, including Home, About, Programs, News, Donate, and Fundraising. Each section was designed to guide users through POAC’s story and encourage involvement. We also planned for future initiatives like the BeBOLD Campaign and student leadership features to ensure scalability.
To boost engagement, I added interactive elements such as embedded videos, clickable links, and a blog platform for updates and success stories. These features brought POAC’s work to life and created multiple ways for users to connect.
The redesign focused on strategy as much as aesthetics. I streamlined navigation, clarified calls to action, and built trust through thoughtful design choices that reflect POAC’s values of compassion, leadership, and community. The final product is a dynamic hub for outreach, fundraising, and storytelling, authentic to POAC’s voice and built for growth.
Brand kit development
To support POAC’s growth across digital and print platforms, I created a comprehensive brand kit that included:
Logo variations: Full logo, icon-only, horizontal and vertical formats in color, black and white, and transparent backgrounds
Color palette: Primary and secondary colors with HEX, RGB, and CMYK codes, plus usage guidelines
Typography: Brand fonts for headers, body text, and accents, with font weights and fallback options
Imagery style: Photography guidelines for tone and composition, plus iconography and illustration style
Design elements: Patterns, textures, shapes, and UI components like buttons and cards
This brand kit provided consistency across the website, social media, print materials, and email campaigns, helping POAC build a recognizable and trustworthy identity.
BeBOLD campaign
I conceptualized and developed the BeBOLD Campaign as a cornerstone initiative to amplify POAC Succeed’s mission and galvanize support from corporate sponsors, community leaders, and changemakers. The goal was to create a campaign that not only raised funds but also inspired action, built community, and positioned POAC as a leader in student empowerment.
My role encompassed every aspect of the campaign’s creation and execution. I designed a dedicated campaign webpage that was visually compelling and strategically structured to guide users through the sponsorship journey. I wrote persuasive and emotionally resonant copy that clearly communicated the impact of each sponsorship, emphasizing how a $5,000 commitment could transform the lives of 60 students by providing leadership training, mentorship, and tools for community engagement.
To ensure brand consistency and maximize reach, I created a suite of branded assets including social media graphics, email templates, and promotional materials tailored for both digital and print use. I also developed a content calendar that mapped out key messaging moments, calls to action, and storytelling opportunities. This helped the campaign maintain momentum and visibility across platforms.
One of the most impactful elements I introduced was a donation funnel that simplified the giving process and increased conversion rates. By combining intuitive UX design with emotionally driven storytelling, I helped potential sponsors feel personally connected to the mission and confident in their decision to contribute.
The BeBOLD Campaign was more than a fundraiser. It invited individuals and organizations to become legacy builders, to stand up for student leadership, and to invest in a future shaped by kindness, courage, and inclusion. Through this campaign, POAC was able to expand its reach, deepen its impact, and build lasting relationships with partners who believe in the power of youth-led change.

Campaign scheduling
A key component of the BeBOLD Campaign’s success was the development of a strategic content calendar that aligned messaging with key engagement windows and audience behavior. I created a multi-phase schedule that ensured consistent visibility, built anticipation, and drove action throughout the campaign lifecycle.
